Reinettes overview
Apples in this section have a rough feeling dry surface (although some may begin to go greasy in store), the surface is netted with russet or there are patches, spots and specks of russet over the body of the apple as well as in the cavity. There is often russet in the basin as well.
There is a fine dividing line between these and the more lightly russeted russets.
Some apples classified as red also have a fair amount of russet e.g. Pearl so check the red section if your rough skinned apple also looks red.
